Tell us your love story — how did you meet, when did you know they were the one? :
I met Léa in 2017 at an event I used to run. I cracked a sarcastic joke that landed like a lead balloon — she blinked, unimpressed. I was mortified. I assumed she hated me. What I didn’t know was that Léa was from France… and sarcasm didn’t exactly translate. We saw each other at that event every year. Glances were exchanged. I assumed she wasn’t interested. She assumed the same. For three years, we tiptoed around a story just waiting to be written. Then came the red dress moment. It was a black-and-white themed party, and Léa stood out — bold, bright, unmistakably radiant. We locked eyes across the room, and something shifted. I marched up to her and (maybe not my smoothest move) demanded, “What is your problem?” She laughed. I laughed. Something cracked open. And the rest? Well, the rest is love — unexpected, hilarious, slow-burning, wildly worth it. The universe got the last laugh when my “I’ll never leave New York” turned into “Hi, we live in L.A. now, with two dogs and a thousand inside jokes.” Léa proposed to me under the northern lights in Lapland, Finland, with the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen — and a heart full of certainty. Turns out love has its own language. And Léa speaks mine fluently.

Do you have any advice or tips for others planning a proposal?:
I think everyone should talk about their proposal before it happens. I dont mean plan it out, but learn your partners wishes. Would a flash mob bring a smile to their face or is something more private more meaningful? You can work those details out and still surprise your potential fiancé.

Why did you choose a PNPS ring? What stood out to you?:
I love the look of these rings. I knew I wanted one, and funnily enough when I look back on all of the photos I grabbed of rings, Léa perfectly pulled an element from each of them to craft my ring without me ever having to show her.

What has been the most memorable part of your engagement/wedding?:
We were bundled in coats in the middle of the Arctic Circle, surrounded by snow and silence, and the sky lit up like it was giving us its blessing. It was unreal.
