Jess & Chris: Tinder Date to Vineyard Escape

Tell us your love story — how did you meet, when did you know they were the one? :
It all started with a right swipe. Jess and I matched on Tinder, and from that moment on, our evenings belonged to each other. Every night, we’d text for hours—sharing stories, jokes, and dreams. When we finally met for our first date, it felt like seeing an old friend I had somehow never met in person. The connection was instant, the kind you can’t fake. By the end of the night, I didn’t want to wait weeks to see her again, so I invited her on a trip to Oregon the very next week. We ended up in a remote yurt on a winery, tucked away from the world with no cell service, no TV, and nothing digital except an old record player in the corner. The days melted into each other as we wandered the vineyard, sipped wine, and let the music fill the space between words. Without the noise of the outside world, it was just us laughing, talking, and slowly realizing that something deep and real was happening. By the time we left that little yurt, I knew I didn’t just meet someone special on Tinder, I had met the love of my life.

Do you have any advice or tips for others planning a proposal?:
Make it a meaningful connection to your story and a place that you both love.

Why did you choose a PNPS ring? What stood out to you?:
For years, both Jess and I had been quietly following the Point No Point Studio Instagram, drawn to its stunning style and unique designs never knowing the other was doing the same. It wasn’t until after we started dating and began talking about marriage that the topic came up. We laughed when we realized we’d both been fans of the exact same account all along. The surprise didn’t end there. When we looked it up, we were blown away to discover that the studio wasn’t some far-off destination, it was right in our own backyard in Snohomish. Without hesitation, we booked an appointment for the very next week, excited to see in person the place we had each admired for so long.

What has been the most memorable part of your engagement/wedding?:
I wasn’t entirely sure where or when I would propose to Jess. I just knew I wanted it to be somewhere that truly meant something to us. Astoria, Oregon, felt right the moment we arrived. It’s a place where we’ve spent so much time together, always near the water, which has been such a constant in my life. That weekend happened to coincide with a U.S. Coast Guard charity event I work every year, one that’s always been special to me. This year was even more meaningful, knowing it would be my last before retiring after 20 years of active duty service. I found a quiet moment on the water to ask her, just the two of us, away from the noise of the event. When she said yes, it felt like the tide had shifted in the most beautiful way. Later, all of our closest friends, who were already there for the event, gathered to celebrate with us, making it not just an engagement, but a perfect blend of past, present, and future.
