Trisha & Brian: Spooky Soulmates

Tell us your love story — how did you meet, when did you know they were the one? :
We met in a modern, ordinary way: on Bumble. But it quickly became clear that there was nothing ordinary about our connection. We bonded over a shared love of horror movies, gothic architecture, and all things spooky. Our first date was at a supposedly haunted, decommissioned fire station in Los Angeles that had been transformed into a bar and restaurant…fittingly setting the tone for everything that followed. The courtship became a collection of horror movies and haunted houses, spooky-themed parties and ghost tours, and travels around the world in search of beautiful old castles, gothic architecture, historic hotels, and places with stories to tell. On a blustery night in Edinburgh, we found ourselves staying at The Witchery, a historic 16th-century hotel. After dinner, we took a walk through the city and climbed the Vennel steps, stopping to admire the breathtaking view of Edinburgh Castle. There, Brian proposed, and of course, I said yes. To celebrate, we wandered into the nearest cocktail bar we could find: The Dragonfly. As we raised a glass to our future, we discovered that The Dragonfly is considered Edinburgh’s oldest cocktail bar—and it happens to be housed in the UK’s oldest decommissioned fire station. From our very first date to the night we got engaged, the ghosts keep bringing us closer together.

Do you have any advice or tips for others planning a proposal?:
Do what you love with who you love!

Why did you choose a PNPS ring? What stood out to you?:
After a long search, PNP was perfect for our engagement ring because a traditional diamond never quite felt like us. Trisha was drawn to a salt-and-pepper diamond for the same reason we love all things spooky and unusual: the complex allure and smoky inclusions that give each stone a one-of-a-kind beauty. Plus, she loved how the prongs could be accentuated to look like "sharp claws" and the overall light grey color matched Brian’s eyes (and hair, more and more each day)! The ring turned out perfect.

What has been the most memorable part of your engagement/wedding?:
It's all been so overwhelming. I don't think we'll ever forget that perfect night, or really the rest of the trip across Scotland and Ireland, where Trisha couldn't stop staring at her ring and how the color continued to change/be accentuated by the cloudy skies and candlelit rooms. We may never recover from such a perfect engagement trip.
