Tell us your love story — how did you meet, when did you know they were the one? :
Mark moved to my school in 7th grade… We became friendly quickly. Over the next 20 years, through a variety of relationships, life milestones, moving away and coming back a few times, Mark was the one friend I always managed to stay in touch with in some way. Finally in 2020, we reconnected again, this time it seemed to be different. We quickly began spending more and more time together and pretty soon we were inseparable. It felt like the stars finally aligned for us. We’ve never looked back since then!
Do you have any advice or tips for others planning a proposal?:
From Mark: they should really think of a special place, area, or activity that has meaning to their significant other. Sam loves the beach, particularly one beach at the Jersey Shore where she grew up going with her family. Proposing at sunrise on that beach made it so much more special!
Why did you choose a PNPS ring? What stood out to you?:
Ive always been a “non traditionalist”… A friend showed me PNPS website about 8 years ago and I instantly fell in love with how unique each ring was! I’m not a flashy bright diamond jewelry girl and the salt and pepper diamonds were so understated but special looking. I bookmarked your site ever since then and always told Mark that’s the only type of ring I wanted!
What has been the most memorable part of your engagement/wedding?:
How special the location that Mark chose was and all the orchestrating and logistics that went into planning it as a surprise. He somehow lured me down to the beach for a beautiful sunrise (saying he randomly got an extra day off from work that day), he had friends there to take photos and capture the moment, it was the first beach i’ve ever been on when I was a baby, a perfect sunrise, and then after we walked along the boardwalk and explored the town and got coffee and treats from the bakery. The entire morning just literally felt like we stepped into a fairytale and out of reality. The amount of planning he did all on his own without my knowing showed how much he loves me. He had been mentioning we should go to the beach to see the sunrise for months… he was planting that seed for so long… now I realized that was all part of his plan.
