Claire & Jason: From Besties to Fiancés (+ fair scones)

Tell us your love story — how did you meet, when did you know they were the one? :
Jason and I met in college and were friends for years before we started dating. We were best friends who were both too scared to admit we had feelings for each other until we finally did and we’ve been together ever since. Jason knew that I wanted an engagement that was private and surrounded by people who loved both of them so he planned a big party at my family beach cabin with all of our closest friends and family. Cut to March 2020 and that plan kind of blew up in Jason’s face. Covid threw a wrench in his engagement plan, but he was still able to pull off a beautiful day full of love and laughter. Jason took me on the longest walk I’ve ever been on to give our family time to set up the engagement, which ended up taking longer than he thought because his mom (who had all the decorations in car) wanted to stop for fair scones. While our engagement wasn’t the big party Jason had planned, we were still able to laugh together and be loved on by our family, and enjoy some fair scones.

Do you have any advice or tips for others planning a proposal?:
Be flexible! Even if things don’t go as planned that isn’t what you will remember.

Why did you choose a PNPS ring? What stood out to you?:
I found PNPS at a small local jewelry store and fell in love. I have always wanted a ring that was unique and had its own personality and PNPS perfectly encapsulated that. Jason was then able to go to a pop up in Seattle where he designed the ring himself. He put together a spreadsheet of screenshots of different PNPS rings and had me rate them and write comments. His biggest takeaway was that I wanted my ring to be “jazzy”

What has been the most memorable part of your engagement/wedding?:
Working through COVID and learning to be flexible with plans. Our engagement and wedding were both so fun and perfect but our plans changed more times than we could count
